2016 ERIC HOFFER FINALIST AWARD FOR YORK STREET – A GHOST & A COP SERIES
RISING STAR AWARD FOR RED SUNSET DRIVE – A GHOST AND A COP SERIES ISSUED BY IUNIVERSE PUBLISHER · JAN 2017
“2026 – Award of Achievement from the Iowa Motion Picture Association for her movie, Voodun.”
Jan’s first novel, Believe, was published in August 2013. Believe is a romantic fiction/time travel set in the Victorian Era. The San Francisco Book Review stated,
“Several things stand out in Believe that make it different from other time travel romance books. The element of a sociopathic stalker added a level of mystery and suspense, as well as provided a catalyst to advance the romance.”
In September 2014, York Street- A Ghost & A Cop Series was released. The book is a tale of chaos and mayhem as Brett O’Shea, a young street cop, and an irreverent ghost,
Al, team up to outwit a serial killer with unusual capabilities. Brett doesn’t believe in hocus pocus until Al shows up. The two are in for a ride of their life. York Street is a 2016 Eric Hoffer Finalist.
The second book in the series is Red Sunset Drive. This book was given the
Editor’s Choice Award and the Rising Star Award. Detective Brett O’Shea and his ghostly partner are on the trail of vampires.
The third book in the ‘Ghost and A Cop’ series is ‘Tempest Court’. The book was released in January 2020. Brett O’Shea and Michael, the ghost, take on a mummy.
Jan’s fourth book in the Ghost and A Cop series is Hazzard Avenue. Detective O’Shea’s psychic abilities are unleashed when a Voodoo priestess spins her web of evil magic.
Also, Hazzard Avenue was used as the basis for the movie, Voodun, which will be released in 2024. For more information on Jan’s Movies, visit the Movie Section of this website.
Walters’ plot is replete with a colorful cast, a combination of foils, and a tight handful of antagonists. Unique to Walters’ third-person narrative is the way she weaves in comedy and a bit of romance in the midst of a dark plot.

Pacific Book Review
Action scenes are brisk, and the gloomy atmosphere of evil magic is perfectly supernatural…With many adventures in the rear-view mirror and seemingly more on the horizon, readers that like a little magic with their murder mysteries will be more than satisfied with this latest offering.
