Jan began writing in 2012. She is the creator of the ‘Ghost and A Cop’ series of which there are currently three published novels. She is currently working on the fourth book in the series.

The Ghost and A Cop series is set in Des Moines. With four generations of men in her family serving on the Des Moines Police Department (DMPD), this became the impetus for creating the series. The Ghost and A Cop Series is a mystery/thriller/paranormal. The books in the series are: York Street, Red Sunset Drive, and Tempest Court. Hazzard Avenue is the next book in the series and should be released in 2023.

Jan enjoys adding a paranormal twist to her stories. This led her to try her hand at writing a feature script. In 2022, she completed her first screenplay, Lost Lake. Lost Lake is the tale of a crew of young construction workers who receive the opportunity of a lifetime on an isolated island. Unfortunately, the crew uncovers the graves of civil war soldiers.

As of May 2022, the screenplay has been accepted into the PopCon Film Festival.

Upon the completion of Hazzard Avenue, Jan plans to begin writing a feature script for a second horror film, Satan’s Guardians.
